Sono state annunciate oggi le nomination alla 75esima edizione dei Golden Globe Awards, che potete rivedere in diretta sul player che trovate qui sopra. Come sempre le categorie includono sia cinema che serie tv.

A presentare le candidature vi erano Alfre Woodard, Garrett Hedlund, Kristen Bell e Sharon Stone, presenti al Beverly Hilton Hotel di Beverly Hills assieme a Simone Garcia Johnson (figlia di Dwayne Johnson e nuova ambasciatrice dei Golden Globes), la presidente dell’HFPA Meher Tatna e Barry Adelman della Dick Clark Productions. La premiazione avverrà poi il 7 gennaio e verrà trasmessa negli USA dalla NBC, con Seth Meyers alla conduzione.

Premio più glamour che altro, i Golden Globes potrebbero confermare quanto avvenuto agli Emmy per serie come The Handmaid’s Tale o Big Little Lies (che batte tutti con ben sei nomination). Colpiscono però le sovrapposizioni, in particolare le doppie nomination a Feud e Big Little Lies nella categoria come migliore attrice. Doppia nomination per Big Little Lies anche nella categoria della migliore attrice non protagonista. Fa sorridere il ritorno in grande spolvero di Will & Grace come miglior comedy e miglior attore in una comedy (siamo sicuri che non la meritasse più Sean Hayes come migliore attore non protagonista? Paga senza dubbio la mancata divisione in drama / comedy della categoria). Inoltre, da notare Jude Law nominato per The Young Pope.

Numerose invece le assenze che fanno “rumore” e che risultano piuttosto inspiegabili: scompare Veep, dopo tre premi come miglior comedy consecutivi e sei premi come migliore attrice comedy a Julia Louis Dreyfuss. Scompare anche Transparent: dopo tre anni densi di nomination e vittorie, la serie cade forse vittima di un presunto scandalo molestie per il quale Jeffrey Tambor ha lasciato il ruolo. Riconoscimento minimo, poi, per Twin Peaks mentre The Leftovers e American Gods non ricevono nomination.
